October 22 has been a very busy day for Steven Spielberg since he was in Brussels for the World Premiere of the film « The adventures of Tintin and the Secret of the Unicorn ».
Starting his day with the international press conference, he soon after joined another ceremony to be made Commander of the Order of the Crown, as a reward for his entire work.
He was then waited with actors Jamie Bell (Tintin),Gad Elmaleh (Omar Ben Salaad) and producer Kathleen Kennedy on the red carpet at the UGC cinema complex. The crowd was overwhelmingly present and they responded with pleasure to that warm welcome, signing autographs and answering questions from reporters that lined the route before going into the cinema to officially open the show.
Punctuating his introduction words by a “and now: action”, Steven Spielberg and his team then left the wonderful Deco Grand Eldorado room to Brussels Southern Station being expected a few hours later in Paris for the French premiere of the film.
Once there, the film team inaugurated with Franck Gervais, CEO of Thalys, this freshly and outstanding “Tintin” branded Thalys train.
“Thalys is pleased to support this great film through which Tintin will radiate everywhere. The dedication of Steven Spielberg is an honor that we will be happy to share with our customers. We have also decided that the train will be running across our network until the end of the year,” said Franck Gervais.
Here are a few pictures of this event and a little ‘making of’ video:
And don’t forget that the film is scheduled in Belgium, France and the Netherlands today, and in Germany tomorrow. Go and see it! I did, and it was really a ‘wow’ experience which I’ll post about very soon. Enjoy. Eric
As promised, here’s my review of the film on Gusmen https://www.gusmen.com/2011/10/27/reviewing-tintin-an-unconditional-yes
