It all started with a pair of jeans: unpicked and sewn back together again, they looked completely different, a bit of fun really; the handles on the prototypes made out of an old belt, recycled.
It was just a short step from experimentation to production. The Denim Bags are handmade using 100% recycled fabrics from old Replay trousers. Unpicked, cut and sewn up again, the jeans become bags, finished and embellished with the addition of an inner cotton lining and handles in fine Italian leather, distressed for a vintage effect.
The craftsman-like process makes each bag unique. Despite having the same proportions, the recycled jeans all have different washes, linings, customisation and wear.
The brand’s trademark is the unmistakable back pocket with its embroidered seagull wing.
The Denim Bag was born out of a desire to experiment with recycling and transformation of denim fabrics, in sharp contrast to use-and-throw culture.
Handy, extremely spacious, ironic in shape and with a vague hint of hippy, it adds that extra something to any summer outfit.
