The new BEASTIE BOARDS series is a collaborative effort between Brooklyn based skate & surf house ALONG and artist CHIDY WAYNE from Barcelona.
ALONG was established in 2011 in Williamsburg-Brooklyn as a way to live passion for skate & surf but inspired by nature making handmade limited edition boards with sustainable materials and old school techniques.
CHIDY WAYNE is a Barcelona based artist and illustrator who develops his own way to approach to the image for brands such as Nike, Esquire, American Crew, New York Magazine… as well as illustrating fashion books as “Trendy”.
In November 2013 Wayne was painting in NYC and Along’s founder David Lopez challenged him to collaborate without any guideline but being related to nature. They both sat in front of an Alaia surfboard while listening to 60s soul music and talking about the feeling of riding the pools at Chelsea Piers or a wave in Nicaragua. The result is a magnificent and unique composition.
Five beautiful acrylic and wood beasts represented with the wildness but precision a rider needs to face both concrete or real waves.
Every board purchased comes with a limited print, signed and numbered by CHIDY WAYNE himself.
