Marlon Roudette – When The Beat Drops Out

[wide][/wide] Marlon Roudette has had a special place in my heart ever since I first heard him alongside Preteesh (the producer) in the now-disbanded electronic-R&B act, Mattafix. Nothing has ever materialized since their last album, Rhythm & Hymns (released in 2007), but thankfully, the music from Marlon still lives on through his solo material.

It has been three years since the London-born, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines-raised singer-songwriter released his first solo album, the cheekily titled Matter Fixed, but now he’s back again to provide us with his second solo project, Electric Soul (due out August 8th), with the first single, “When The Beat Drops Out”, that’s being accompanied by a remix from the German house producer, Florian Paetzold.
