‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,’ Starring Cher

“Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.” Some critics may be saying the same thing, but the original “Mamma Mia,” despite mixed reviews, became the highest-grossing movie musical ever when it was released in 2008, grossing more than $600 million worldwide. A decade later, along comes a sequel, and the first trailer has just been released.

This trailer features new footage of Cher as Ruby Sheridan, the mother of Meryl Streep’s Donna and grandmother of Az’s Sophie. Cher is seen belting out the ABBA hit song “Fernando” while also offering her thanks when Tanya (Christine Baranski) toasts to “the woman of this, and every hour,” unaware that Donna was referring to Sophie.
In theaters next July!
