For its 140th anniversary, Heineken launched a really cool contest: the ‘Heineken® Limited Edition Design Challenge’. It’s a global design competition for creative talents world wide. You too can now design the bottle of the future and have your name written in the history on one of the most famous brands today.
The event, which is organized through Facebook, will be open until January 31, 2012 and invites entrants to create a bottle design that symbolizes how people around the world will connect in the next 140 years. The two top designs will be selected and their creators will have the opportunity to pair up to design another bottle together – making friends of two complete strangers much like Heineken has done for years. The winner’s designs will be launched in an exclusive, Limited Edition pack sold around the world in celebration of Heineken’s anniversary.
To enter the competition, you have first to download the design brief and toolkit located on Heineken’s Facebook page. After completion, you can upload your entry to an online gallery where it gets shortlisted. The best designs are then individually evaluated, with afterwards choosing the overall winner. The judging panel will consist of Evan Orensten, Co-founder and Executive Editor of Cool Hunting, Mark Dytham, Co-founder of global creative network, PechaKucha, and Mark van Iterson, Global Head of Design at Heineken.
