Timberland Abington Collection: Made well, because it had to be.

With the winter season just around the corner, the Timberland’s new line of boots aptly named the Abington Collection — Timberland was originally named The Abington Shoe Company — comes just in time.

Beginning in 1973 with its first waterproof leather boot, Timberland has stood for rugged durability and exceptional craftsmanship. Timberland’s outdoor-tested, environmentally-conscious footwear continues to evolve through its use of recycled, organic materials and earth-conscious processes. All without sacrificing comfort or style.

The new Abington collection by Timberland for this Fall/Winter season draws its inspiration from traditional workmanship. This collection pays tribute to the pre-industrial “everyman” that forged the future of America. Each footwear style has been crafted with the same grit and determination as those who inspired them. It features boots and shoes designed to not only meet the challenges of a hard day’s work, but also the well earned recreation time that follows.

The pictures for the collection were taken by Timothy McGurr (aka 13th Witness). Through colorization, McGurr added a contemporary feel to the product and landscape pictures associated with the collection.

Earlier this year, McGurr went to the Bronx and met up with some of the most influential artists in NYC to help him present the Fall 2012 Abington Collection.

Discover a bit more about these artists, the making-of’s and their favorite shoes in this interesting collection.
