Hoxton Hotel in Brussels, “In May, do as you please”

In a few days now, in May, with the return of the warm weather Hoxton will open their hotel in Brussels, Belgium. This addition to their portfolio of properties is an important step for the group in terms of development and growth, and is likely to further strengthen their position as one of the leading lifestyle hotel brands in Europe.

Hoxton Hotels is a group of hotels based in London, England. The group offers hotels in strategic locations in major European cities, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and Barcelona, to name but a few. The group also has a presence in Chicago, Los Angels, Portland and in the Big Apple, Williamsburg. There are about ten hotels currently under development in the group, evidence of a rapid growth.

Hoxton hotels focus on the guest experience and are known for their elegant decor and warm atmosphere. They are also known for their affordable approach to business travel or holidays, offering excellent value for money for guests. The group’s first hotel was opened in 2006, in London’s East End, where a car park was converted into a residence. In Brussels, the hotel group has taken over the former European headquarters of IBM, offering an incredible view of the heart of the city in a brutalist style building.

This emblematic building in the Botanical Gardens district has undergone a major renovation. The concrete skeleton and the circulation shafts have been reused. The façade is new, but resembles the previous design from 1974. Too often today, large buildings are completely demolished, which leads to a lot of waste and logistics, even though they are still in good condition. The Victoria Tower is an example of how empty office buildings can be given new life, with mixed-use programmes and new connections to the city.

Hoxton, Brussels awaits you with a breathtaking view from their roof top bar, a double storey lobby, and a new Peruvian inspired restaurant and bar ‘Cantina Valentina‘ and 198 rooms with a 1970s inspired design.

A hotel is no longer for sleeping, it’s for LIVING

In addition to the comfortable rooms, here in Brussels, the group has opted for a seventies-inspired décor with dark wood furniture, colourful velvet sofas, striped headboards and carpets with graphic patterns referring to the architecture of the building. All of this gives a warm, cosy and comfortable feeling.

But this new hotel could also be of interest to the people of Brussels. The Hoxton Brussels is surfing on the increasingly popular trend of the so-called “open-house”. Hybrid hotels where you can sleep at night, but also enjoy various services during the day without staying there. Since its launch, Hoxton Hotels has had a policy of creating numerous events within the hotel to strengthen its artistic links with the local community.

Work Hard, Play Hard

As the capital of Europe, Brussels is an important political and administrative centre for the entire continent. However, in addition to its political functions, Brussels is also known for its pleasant lifestyle. There are even several reasons why Brussels could be considered the ‘new New York’. Brussels is a multilingual and multicultural city, with many ethnic and linguistic communities coexisting peacefully. The city is full of lively restaurants, bars and cafes, as well as numerous museums and art galleries. All in all, Hoxton Hotels arriving in Brussels is positioned in the heart of Europe with an attractive offer for modern travellers looking for a unique and personalised hotel experience.

The hotel also features a large space called “The Apartment”. A unique and fully flexible venue. Perfect for conferences and product launches, private dinners and special occasions. There will also be the opportunity to come and work during the day, in a brand new co-working space established on 5 floors of the hotel. Expect open-plan offices, studios, lounge areas and communal dining areas on every floor, plus the welcoming, no-frills atmosphere of Brussels life.

Book your stay before the doors open in May for €150, with €30 restaurant credit and an automatic upgrade.
